Jeden trup, jeden szpieg i tajemnica służbowaKazimierz Korkozowicz jest znany przede wszystkim dzięki swoim książkom o tematyce historycznej. Napisał jednak także sporo kryminałów (całkiem udanych), do których możemy zaliczyć też "Trzecią rakietę". Miałam na początku pewne co do tego wątpliwości, ale w końcu – jeżeli jest trup, ktoś prowadzi śledztwo i na zakończenie łapie mordercę, to przecież jest kryminał, prawda? Owszem, z wątkiem szpiegowskim, ale jednak kryminał. Zaczyna się sielsko-anielsko, gdy pan Anzelm Szarotka, emerytowany starszy księgowy, przyjeżdża do ośrodka FWP (dla młodszych, niezorientowanych – Funduszu Wczasów Pracowniczych). Nie mamy żadnych danych, gdzie dokładnie te ośrodek się znajdował, wiemy, że na odludziu, kilka kilometrów od najbliższego miasteczka. Nie był to żaden nowoczesny budynek, ale stare, masywne gmaszysko, ze względu na swoją wielkość i rozgałęzione piwnice, przypominające lochy oraz fosę zwane przez okoliczną ludność zamkiem. To ważna informacja. Pan Anzelm miał tu spędzić jakiś czas na miłym odpoczynku w miłym towarzystwie. Jednak ciężkie, czarne chmury gromadzące się na niebie podczas jego podróży dorożką (!) są zapowiedzią nie tylko zmiany pogody, ale także mogą symbolizować grozę nadchodzących wydarzeń. Pan Anzelm to starszy człowiek, o dość charakterystycznym wyglądzie, na dodatek bardzo przesądny, wrażliwy i łatwowierny. Już otrzymanie pokoju nr 13 deprymuje go okrutnie i wpędza w popłoch. Przesądy przesądami, niby w to nie wierzymy, jednak późniejsze wydarzenia pokazują, że jednak coś w tym jest… Na razie pan Szarotka poznaje towarzystwo, wszyscy spożywają kolację, po czym całe grono wczasowiczów zasiada w fotelach, rozmawiając. Na zewnątrz rzeczywiście rozszalała się zapowiadana burza, nie ma mowy o spacerze. Nastrój pewnej grozy, spowodowany burzą i błyskawicami, jest prawdopodobnie przyczyną tematu rozmowy wczasowiczów. Otóż rozpoczynają się rozmowy o duchach, kilka osób opowiada o wydarzeniach z własnego życia, w których duchy, prawdziwe lub wyimaginowane, są głównymi bohaterami. Opowieści te zachwycają pana Szarotkę, starszy pan egzaltuje się niczym panienka przed pierwszym balem. To wszystko jest tylko skromnym wstępem do kolejnych wydarzeń, które wstrząsną grupką wczasowiczów i na długo zburzą ich spokój. Okaże się, że wczasowy ośrodek jest terenem działania sił wrogich narodowi polskiemu, a podstępny wichrzyciel przybył, aby odnaleźć jakieś arcyważne materiały z czasów wojny. Niestety, gdy już przebrniemy przez momentami nudnawą opowieść, nie dowiadujemy się w końcu, jakie to materiały. To jest właśnie ta tytułowa tajemnica służbowa. Ha, mówi się trudno. Tak się tylko zastanawiam, czy to zakończenie ma świadczyć o arcyważności tych dokumentów, czy po prostu autorowi zabrakło pomysłu? Prawdopodobnie jedno i drugie.Pomimo pewnej statyczności (wszystko dzieje się w ośrodku lub w starym młynie nieopodal) książkę czyta się dość dobrze, nawet z zaciekawieniem. Porównując ja np. do Sukcesu doktora Gordona muszę przyznać, że zdecydowanie wolę lata 50-te w Polsce, nie w Londynie.

Not a twinge of his preacherly manner. A real precursor to Perry Mason, or Poirot, complete with its Miss Wiggins (Della Street and Miss Lemon), Willie the office boy, and Bonnie Doon, the gumshoe of the outfit. Copmprised of seven short stories, the first two being murder cases, in which Mr.Tutt gets the murderer off in such a way that we agree with him. Of course, in the second instance, the murderer was promptly shot himself. But in the first, he was definitely guilty. There are a whole series of these books which were quite popular in their day, and I can see why. The courts in those times seem to have been much more lax in their procedures than nowadays.
