Minete Voltersa ar vīru un diviem bērniem dzīvo Hempšīrā. Agrāk strādājusi par žurnāla redaktori, patlaban pilnībā nodevusies rakstniecībai.
1992. gadā viņa debitē rakstniecībā ar romānu "Ledus nams", par kuru saņem Kriminālžanra rakstnieku asociācijas Džona Krīzija balvu, kas iedibina Voltersas, bezgala satraucošas mūsdienu kriminālžanra rakstnieces, reputāciju. Otro romānu "Tēlniece" kritiķi uzskata par ļoti aizraujošu un spēcīgu autores darbu, un 1993. gadā tam kā labākajam Amerikā publicētajam kriminālromānam tiek piešķirta Edgara Alana Po balva.
